Coming to America

Museum Exhibit

This piece was part of a collaboration between New Media Design students at RIT and the Rochester Museum and Science Center. The goal for this project was to add an engaging and modern motion graphic piece to supplement the Native American exhibit in the museum.

Currently the exhibit contains static exhibits and displays however, while very dense with information, these particularly exhibits are not necessarily easily digestible for children, who are the most frequent visitors to the museum.

My particular piece focuses on the idea of describing how the first people came to the North American continent. It is both an interactive piece and animated motion graphic. The first half of the piece strives to describe the events over time that allowed the first people to settle in America, and the second half allows a visitor to explore historical sites that are thought to be some of the first Native American settlements.
